Taizé Worship Services
During Lent we will hold a Taizé worship service on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Taizé is a style of worship that is quiet, meditative and prayerful. Simple music, scripture readings, prayers, and candlelight set a thoughtful tone. Taizé is an ecumenical community in France which draws people from all over the world for shared worship and work while living in community.
Taizé services will begin on Sunday, March 5 and will be offered through Sunday, April 2. They are wonderful as a Lenten discipline or as a time to invite people who might not be comfortable with more structured, formal church services, or for whom Sunday mornings do not work.
Pat B. is collecting shoes as a member of the Pompey Lions Club to send to WaterStep, a project to provide shoes for adults and children and clean water for people around the world. Please bring pairs of gently used shoes that are good for walking to Crosby Hall.
Pat is also collecting used eye glasses for the Pompey Lions Club. There is a collection bin in Crosby Hall. Thank you for your contributions.
